Natural Gas Transmission Lines
- Over
38,000 miles of new transmission pipeline as well as 263,000 miles of
transmission mains and 0.8 trillion cubic feet of new gas storage capacity are
projected through 2015.
- It
takes energy to compress natural gas and send it through lines to
consumers. Of the total amount of gas
that moves through a section a line, about 3% of that gas is required to do the
work to move it.
